Director's Notes

This production of Arsenic and Old Lace has been brought to life by an excellent cast who have spent many hours in practice and rehearsal and who have been exceedingly patient with my first attempt at directing. During my 4 years with Stage Left I have been fortunate to try on the roles of actress, board member, costume assistant, stage hand, painting crew, props crew, assistant director and now director (with assistance). Directing a play demands concentration, detail, commitment, and talent. Unfortunately, talent in directing is not something that I have at this time so Greg West provided the talent needed to see that this play came together. I am tremendously grateful to Greg for his patient tutoring and endless encouragement. A play is truly a group effort and this production is a result of much hard work on the part of this talented cast and those behind the scenes. Thank you, everyone! I am especially grateful to Garth Dickinson for his hard work in making our set even though he had lines to learn. I want to give special thanks as well to Liam Walsh for designing and producing our poster in spite of the many hours required for his part in the play. Thank you also, Judy Litz, for the loan of your pickup as needed for set construction.
